What's the deal with bouncy castle and concrete
We are often asked whether Bouncy Castles might be put outside on cement, tarmac, or artificial grass. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for these surfaces because of the requirements for the inflatable to be pegged down when set up outside. An ordinary children's bouncy castle will have about six anchor points, and the European Standard (BS EN 14960) states that every one of the six anchor points should a load of 163 kilograms. (For instance, blockades). This means an excess of a ton of weight in total! It is impractical to move this excessive load of sand in our van (or vans) and will probably put us over the max weight limit, which is a criminal offense. What's more, it would be perilous to drive with that much weight. Subsequently, we will have to deny the installation of bouncy castles or other inflatable on hard standing. Therefore, it is to set up on grass, or to rent a hall, for example, a local community hall or church hall, which are inexpensive to rent.
When considering the area of grass please refer to the sizes on our website in the description of the products. If you looking to set up in a hall it is important to check the height of the ceiling to make sure the bouncy castle is not to tall. Please be aware all inflatables are a different height, just because they have had bouncy castle there before does not mean this will fit. We have a list of venues which we listed the products that will fit inside at Halls & Venues.
